Economic Development

Iowa West Foundation grants for economic development projects totaled nearly $3.5 million. The City of Council Bluffs received $900,000 for construction of the FIRST AVE Trail.

Education

Iowa West Foundation grants toward education totaled more than $3 million. The Iowa Western Community College Foundation received $1.2 million toward scholarships for students from six high schools in Pottawattamie County.

Healthy Families

Iowa West Foundation grants for healthy families totaled more than $3 million. Bridges Out of Poverty received $100,000 for the program that helps individuals stop the cycle of poverty.

Placemaking

Iowa West Foundation grants toward placemaking projects totaled $6.5 million. The Council Bluffs Soccer Club received $961,328 for the completion of the Iowa West Sports Plex. A groundbreaking was held Aug. 6.

Rural Fire Departments

Iowa West Foundation has granted more than $3 million to rural fire departments since 1996. In 2020, five communities received LUCAS devices through a $120,000 IWF initiative.
